ABOUT DARLENE MORGAN, M.A., M.Min., NCC, LCPC

For over 20 years, Darlene Morgan has provided professional Christian counseling in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.  She was director of Christian counseling at a large psychiatric hospital and has extensive experience working with diverse populations with many different mental health and relational issues.  She is currently in private practice in Northbrook and Arlington Heights.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr.

In addition to her commitment to her own personal, spiritual, and professional growth, Darlene earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University.  She has had certified training in addictions, trauma resolution (EMDR) and domestic violence. Darlene also earned a Masters in Ministry from Prayer and Word Theological Seminary in Whitewater, WI where she completed her thesis on personal tranformation and family intercession. She is currently working on her doctorate in ministry.  She is licensed with the state of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, is a National Certified Counselor, and has been licensed as a minister by Sanctuary Outreach Ministries.  She is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).

Darlene accumulated broad experience in virtually all levels of the mental health field including inpatient psychiatric, day hospital, outpatient, and church pastoral settings.  She has experience in providing individual, group, and marital therapy in the areas of relationships, addictions, thought, mood and anxiety disorders, as well as the treatment of trauma.

Additional areas of training and expertise include trauma recovery (childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), codependency, ACoA (Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunction), low self-esteem, boundary development, and women's identity issues.  In addition, she herself overcame a lifelong struggle with toxic shame and self-loathing.  Thus, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, Darlene is able to come alongside others who experience self-condemnation and torment.  Darlene has many years of training and experience in healing prayer and helping clients overcome emotionally-laden lies.

It is Darlene's particular passion to help individuals in the body of Christ be restored to optimal spiritual, emotional, and relational health so that they can fulfill their God-given destinies.
